Better me up Lemonade
With summer approaching it is time to get excited for refreshing cold drink. Better me up with a Cup is a herbal tea blend that works in all seasons. It is rich in antioxidants and a mix of herbs and berries that contribute to a good immunity system.
Echinacea in particular is a herb that reduces the symptoms of the common cold. In 16 studies, it was proven to be more effective than placebo in reducing its duration. In addition, the lemon and sea buckthorn add a vitamin C boost. The blend tastes floral due to the fact that one of the main ingredients in Better me up is elderflower. In fact the particular herb combination was meant to closely imitate the taste of elderflower cordial.
The tea can be prepared as a cold brew by adding 2 tablespoons of the blend to 1 liter of room temperature water and left to infuse in the fridge overnight for around 12 hours. It can be enjoyed like this on its own.
To prepare a Better me up lemonade, either prepare a cold brewed version of the herbal tea or a warm infusion that was left to cool down.
Squeeze juice from a few lemons and add it to the cold tea. Add a few slices of lemon and/or other fruit. Sweeten with honey, syrup, or sugar if you wish.
